PHAST Facts - November 4, 2011

 

We have had some feedback that PHAST Facts is difficult to read, so we are trying out some changes this week.  The individual columns will provide specific information on the different schools, and hopefully allow for more space.  We hope that this makes things a little easier for parents who are looking for just Elementary School or just Junior High information.

Calendar of All Elementary School Events   November 10th: School Picture Retakes at the Elementary  November 11th: ePHAST Family Movie Night at the Elementary - 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm)   ***Family Movie Night Information*** Admission is FREE. Snacks and drinks will be on sale for $0.50 each.  There will be a raffle giveaway during the intermission.  Bring the whole family for a fun night at the school!  Please remember that all children MUST be accompanied by an adult.  To volunteer to help out, please click here and look for the tab at the bottom that says "Family Movie Night Volunteer".     Coming soon... Click to see current volunteer opportunities To see the different Volunteer opportunities at the Elementary School, please look at the tabs at the bottom of the Google Doc Spreadsheet linked above.    We currently need help with the following:  - Family Movie Night  - Elementary School Lunch Program - ongoing  - Vision Screenings   STAR Reading Program Help Needed - morning or afternoon a minimum of 30 minutes required.  Please contact RaChelle at rjenson@providencehall.com.   It is very important that we track volunteer hours, as it helps us to be able to know what activities and events we can plan during the year.  The monthly request is four hours per family per month.  If you need help with tracking your hours, Hilary Jeffrey can help with that as well!  Watch for her monthly email reminders with the link that you need in order to stay current.    Click here to log your hours. No-Fuss Fundraiser For those of you who are new to Providence Hall Elementary, you will be thrilled to learn that you won't need to sell popcorn, candy bars, or wrapping paper.  In order to make fundraising as efficient as possible, we have our year-long No Fuss Fundraiser.  We understand that the beginning of school requires a great deal of spending.  Because of that, we have provided the ability to contribute all year long!  In order for our ePHAST Parents program to work well, we ask for $25 per student.  This helps pay for activities throughout the year, and allows ePHAST Parents to help the school as much as possible.  If you have several children in the school, feel free to spread out your donations throughout the year to make things easier for you financially.  We appreciate your contribution! If you would like to write a check, please make it out to PHAST Parents and give it to Kathy Davis in an envelope marked PHAST.  If you would like to donate online, Click here to donate! Looking for more ways to get BoxTops?  Click here for easy ways to earn them for dress down days	Junior High Yearbook Junior High yearbooks are on sale now!  They are $35.  Order forms are in the office.  Do you have photos that would be perfect for the yearbook?  Upload your photos to www.hjshare.com.  Enter the school code: 3013192 and your photos could appear in the yearbook!  We need pictures of the school being built, students (before, after, or during school), playing sports, hanging out, or anything else you have to offer! Read Today Providence Hall is still in the lead at readtoday.com.  Please log your kids' reading hours!  We don't know when this competition will end.
