Elementary Teacher Appreciation Week

Thank you in advance for all that you do for making our classrooms fantastic! Our week of teacher appreciation is quickly approaching and we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of what the plan is! First, please understand that what we want for each of our teachers is to feel loved, appreciated, equal and special. This being said, we plan to do the same for each of our teachers.

What we need from either room parents, or someone that will help them is the following:
~Friday May 4th @ 1:30
Please be to the school to put butcher paper up on your teachers door to have it all prepared for Monday morning.

~Monday May 7th @ 7:45
Please be to the school to prep to stamp the children's hands in paint as the enter the classroom to stamp on the door. Then have them sign their name w/little messages next to their stamp. All supplies will be provided.

~Tuesday May 8th
Students will be bringing in items needed by teachers from their school supply list. (another email with this info will be coming shortly. Along with a student flier to send home to parents)

~Wednesday May 9th
Please be in your teachers classroom for 20 minutes following their lunch end. There will be a kit on the teachers desk that is all ready to be put together when the students have finished decorating the pages for them. This is an appreciation book. Students can color/decorate/write their appreciation page.

~Thursday May 10th
Students will bring in 'Thank You' notes to their teachers today.

~Friday May 11th
Students will wear their teachers favorite color shirt w/dress code pants. (teacher's favorite color will be included in subsequent email and flier.)

Important Calendar Change!!

Dear Parents,

We need to make you aware of calendar change during the month of May.  Due to a built-in snow day that was not utilized we are able to extend the Memorial Holiday break.  The State Office of Education also notified us that we may utilize up to two extra student days for professional development activities focusing on developing and implementing the Common Core.

Our teachers have already spent several professional development hours on the Common Core and we do not feel we need two full days.  However, we are going to utilize one of the professional development days in conjunction with the Memorial Holiday.

Please mark the following changes on your personal calendars.

·      Thursday, May 24th- No school for students (Professional Dev. For staff)

·      Friday, May 25th- No school students and staff

Thank you,

 Providence Hall Administration
